this again, now with 100% more game canon
Sometimes she can't tell the difference.
Especially when they're trying, it's easy to not be sure whether someone is alive or dead; if they don't know, that can make it even more difficult. But Sarah, who glows to those beings like a beacon, isn't thinking about it.
No, Sarah is much more caught up in how it's a busy night at Pink. The lights are low but occasionally flashing with brighter colors to match to whatever music is playing loudly enough to be heard at around the same volume as all the talking, dancing people. She's ignoring that the lights want to give her migraines. She's ignoring the pulsing temples caused by the din, or the way her vision occasionally greys out.
It always comes back, so she can keep working.
Pink keeps being a flurry of people, most of them alive. Sarah chugs more water to keep herself going. Sarah puts Rohto’s Z! drops at a '6' in her eyes, making her feel alive and awake in ways that would be disturbing for just eye drops if she stopped to think about it.
Who has time to stop and think?
The shift keeps going. Life is the shift; existence is the shift; bartending is all that exists. There is no headache.
